Hello! Wondering what I'm up to? Well I'm busy, busy, busy. There are so many ideas flying around that just pinning them down is taking ages. The good news is I'm making quite a bit of progress (not as much as I'd like but writing is really hard! :-). Gull Cove fans will be pleased to know that the fourth book is coming along well. Yes I know the first one has only just come out but they are so much fun to write!
Yet another massive thank you to everyone who has bought the Whispering Sand and has told their friends about it. Sadly I have no idea how well it is selling. I'm just hoping it'll be enough to publish the sequels!
Anyway, work to do!

My first signing
Hello.
So I did my first book signing on Sunday. It wasn't quite a banner waving, crammed room in Waterstone's. In fact it was a party and a few people brought their books along. I signed four and chatted with their bringers, which was a lot of fun. There are photos to follow :-)

So long old friend
My lovely carrot, the only surviving thing growing in my vegetable garden has finally passed on...No that's not exactly true. After surviving slugs, torrential rain and being smothered by roughly two feet of snow the carrot was finally murdered yesterday by a wild rabbit. The horrible creature broke through the netting and swallowed the poor carrot, leaving just enough evidence for me to know what happened.
That rabbit is in my bad books.
So long orange friend!

New Review
Hello! Here's a review of the Whispering Sand taken from sixtyplussurfers.co.uk
The Whispering Sand
By Ian Kenworthy
Review by Jenny Itzcovitz
The Whispering Sand is a brand new children's book for ages 8 - 11 years old. Set at the seaside, it's full of magic and charm and tells the story of Annabeth who has come to stay with her beachcombing Grandpa at Gull Cove.
When Annabeth arrives she finds Grandpa worried and preoccupied. The beautiful bronze sand of Gull Cove is turning grey and dying, and is whispering songs with its last gasp.
With the help of a biscuit-snatching octopus called Glob, singing coral and Grandpa's fantastic inventions, Annabeth ventures into the unknown and discovers more about the sea - and her Grandpa - than she could ever have imagined.
This is a delightful book for strong readers and would make a perfect gift from grandparents. It's also a great book for grandparents to read aloud to their grandchildren at bedtime or while babysitting.
Exploring green issues and the environment, as well a grandfather's close relationship with his granddaughter, the book includes plenty of light humour, mystery and suspense. Be warned, there are a few mildly 'scary' parts in the book, but there's also plenty of fun, laughter and adventure - and most important of all - a lovely happy ending.
