Well, for those of you who are of a more mature persuasion I can heartily recommend reading Bret Easton Ellis' American Psycho. It's not for the faint of heart, at all, but I found it completely unputdownable. The book is narrated by a man named Patrick Bateman and to begin with he tells you about his life as a yuppie (posh business man). He lists in great detail everything he and his friends eat and wear. It's very peculiar and you get the feeling something bad is going to happen. About halfway through the build up ends and...well there are a lot of rather graphic murders. It's hard reading and almost puts you off. But then afterwards, when he returns to the listing of friends outfits you get the feeling that he is going mad. I really, really enjoyed it. The ending particularly draws together a lot of little details leaving you to wonder about the book and what it meant.
For those of you not into graphic violence or you are a bit younger, can I recommend this. I watched this when it was first broadcast. It's still brilliant. I love the art and character design as well as the story :-)
